The BÄR Story

It all began 40 years ago when company founder Christian Bär searched for comfortable shoes for his often painful feet. He promptly decided to found a company together with his wife Hilke and produce high-quality shoes that accommodate the natural shape of the foot—with 100% Toe freedom!

The almost revolutionary approach is met with incomprehension in the industry, and sales partners are difficult to find. Undeterred, Christian Bär decides: “Then we’ll sell our shoes ourselves.” BÄR shoes are now available at more than 20 stores throughout Germany, in the BÄR online shop, and by catalogue order.
