BÄR Bergkomfort Hiking Boot 2.0 wins the ISPO AWARD 2023!
The ISPO Award recognizes the outstanding products and services of each industry sector through ISPO, the internationally leading sports platform. After a long development phase and more than 40 years of experience, we succeeded in offering our customers a shoe that meets all requirements.
The evaluation is based on the practical expertise and real-world experience of international experts. Products are assessed according to criteria such as innovation, sustainability, quality, workmanship, and value for money. BÄR’s Bergkomfort Hiking Shoe 2.0 was evaluated against these strict criteria and impressed with the following features:
BÄR pursues a comprehensive sustainability strategy, which was also positively highlighted in the jury’s decision-making. As an ISO 45001-certified company for health and safety management, we are committed to a sustainable product and production philosophy. Christof Bär emphasizes that, thanks to this philosophy, BÄR shoes are sustainable by nature. We place great importance on selecting materials and partner companies and work closely with the German leather producer TerraCare, known for its environmentally friendly processing method. Both at the manufacturing facility in India and in Germany, BÄR sets high standards at all production sites and obtains more than 60% of its energy from renewable sources.
Thanks to new innovations, hikers can now enjoy even greater comfort and stability. Manufacturing hiking shoes is a complex process that requires many individual components to be perfectly coordinated. BÄR has always been guided by the wide toe box of its shoes. This unusual design gives the toes more room and allows them to spread out better than in comparable shoe models from other manufacturers. At the same time, it ensures optimal stability, so hikers do not slip even on difficult terrain.
